Brian started The Middle American Podcast in March 2023 with the vision of producing a show where politics and society could be discussed from a perspective not found in most media - the middle. He had the goal of encouraging people to not just listen, but talk about topics discussed with family and friends in a constructive way.

Over the years, he has had a variety of guests join the podcast, including candidates running for office. Those conversations have always been engaging, informative and lengthy to allow candidates to flesh out their campaign and visions for elected office.

Writing Our Middle American Life changed Brian’s purpose for the podcast. While maintaining the overall original vision, he has decided to utilize the platform to practice what the book preaches in Chapter 9 - practicing citizenship. ‍
