About Brian
Brian Groesser is an attorney, author, and host of The Middle American podcast. A Michigan native who now lives in North Carolina, his interest in politics and public service has developed through more than two decades of personal and professional experience.
Brian attended the University of Michigan, where some of his earliest encounters with national politics took place. Over the years, he has had opportunities to meet or observe presidents and presidential candidates from across the political spectrum, experiences that helped shape his interest in the relationship between political leaders and the people they represent.
After moving to North Carolina, Brian built his career as an attorney while continuing to follow American politics from an increasingly independent perspective. In 2023, he launched The Middle American, a podcast exploring politics, economics, community, and American life beyond the traditional partisan divide.
Those experiences eventually led Brian to write Our Middle American Life, his first book. Drawing on his experiences in Michigan and North Carolina, his encounters with political figures, and his own evolution as an unaffiliated voter, the book examines what has happened to America's economic and political middle—and the role ordinary citizens can play in shaping what comes next.
Brian continues to practice law in North Carolina, where he lives with his family.
